A Tethered Falcon

My heart sits on the Arm of God
Like a tethered falcon
Suddenly unhooded.

I am now blessedly crazed
Because my Master's Astounding Effulgence
Is in constant view.

My piercing eyes,
Which have searched every world
For Tenderness and Love,
Now lock on the Royal Target -
The Wild Holy One
Whose Beauty Illuminates Existence.

My soul endures a magnificent longing.

I am a tethered falcon
With great wings and sharp talons poised,
Every sinew taut, like a Sacred Bow,
Quivering at the edge of my Self
And Eternal Freedom,

Though still held in check
By a miraculous
Divine Golden Cord.

Beloved,
I am waiting for You to free me
Into Your Mind
And Infinite Being.
I am pleading in absolute helplessness
To hear, finally, your Words of Grace:
Fly! Fly into Me!

Hafiz,
Who can understand
Your sublime Nearness and Separation?

Not much news this morning. I had a dentist appointment today, so it's a short day at work.

The AMULET3i is a single chip computer being developed at the University of Manchester based on an asynchronous implementation of the ARM 9 architecture. The ARM was used in Apple's Newton PDA. Apple's Cambridge Research Lab, where I worked from 1989-1995, was largely responsible for Apple using the ARM instead of the AT&T Hobbit. The ARM has a beautiful architecture, IMHO. I remember studying asynchronous hardware design in my sophomore year at MIT (1975). Nice to see a real chip that uses those ideas. [/.]

Verna Lunkchurch at Sierra Times - The Million Vagina Dialogue:

This is getting kind of boring. No one in my neighborhood (black, home-owning, working class) is about to register a gun, get a license to own a gun, tell anyone remotely resembling a cop that they have a gun, buy guns from a gun store--nada. We're outlaws where I live, and in the great, stupid state of New York, it doesn't take much to be an outlaw. So, we're outlaws and happily so. And we'll keep our guns, thanks very much.

We'll keep 'em, no matter what lips--upper or nether--flap down in Washington, District of Criminals.
