Dorothy Samuels at The New York Times - Ms. Samuels attempts to take the voltage out of the third rail of victim disarmament. She's got a lot more to worry about than the Democrats once again losing control of Congress. I sent the following:

Dorothy Samuels wrote about the myth that the 1994 "assault weapons" ban lost the Democrats their majority in Congress. Myth? I doubt it. But what is not a myth is that American gun owners have taken as much as we're going to take from those who would deny us our right to defend ourselves, our families, our communities, and our country. Make any so-called "law" that causes police to come to our houses and take our guns, and we'll use them for their intended purpose. Cops will die. And, thanks to President Clinton, who declared in 1999 that political leadership and the news media in Serbia were fair game for American missiles, legislators will die, and Ms. Samuels will no longer be safe in her ivory tower. It'll be ugly, and none of us wants it to happen. So don't force our hands. No more victim disarmament. Ever.
