Weapons of War at the Mall and Church
New York Times - a Times editorial responds, in typical gun-grabber knee-jerk fashion, to the recent mall and church slayings. I sent the following letter to the editor (letters@nytimes.com):
A December 12 editorial asked how to stop future mall and church slayings. The answer is simple. Very simple. Obey the Second Amendment.
If a handful of crazies are taking advantage of the sitting duck zones in malls, churches, and schools, sitting duck zones because the "law" forbids good people to be armed, the solution is not more victim disarmament laws. Crazy people don't obey the law. The solution is not to attempt to cover the world with nerf. The solution is to allow good people to defend themselves, with the best self defense tools available.
The next time a whacko unholsters a handgun or unslings a rifle in a mall, or a church, there should be twenty shoppers, or worshippers, ready, willing, and able to stop him, cold, with their liberty teeth, their handguns, carried always and everywhere, in their purses, holsters, and fanny packs.
