Just Stand There While I Die
David Freddoso at National Review - DC Attorney General Linda Singer wrote, in a court filing on the Heller case, "Whatever right the Second Amendment guarantees, it does not require the District to stand by while its citizens die." Yet that's exactly what they did when three women were raped for 14 hours. Two cops showed up, and left without doing anything. Then they prevailed in a lawsuit, using the old crap that the police aren't legally required to do their job. Well, if they won't protect people, and even if they will, the people sure as hell have a right to protect themselves. [2am]
The first time someone tried to mug me in Washington D.C., I ran away as he threatened to shoot me from behind.
The second time, when the exact same situation arose, I knew better. I stopped and turned around to confront the robber as soon as he threatened to shoot: "Hey, buddy!" I said confidently. "Who do you think you're fooling? Guns are outlawed in the District of Columbia -- I know you don't really have one."
He shot me in the face with a crossbow.
Okay, sorry, I'm just making that part up...
