Trailboss

# Claire Wolfe at Backwoods Home Magazine - Fat, Unfit, and Fifty: A Different Bug-Out Scenario - a little common sense about planning for emergencies. At least be prepared to "bug in", by living in your home without electricity or access to a store. Some ideas for stockpiling medications. And lose that spare tire (he said, jiggling his own slowly shrinking belly fat). [claire]

# I watched The Jacket last night. An Iraq war veteran gets put in a mental institution for a murder he didn't commit and is subjected to a "treatment" of being put into a straightjacket and rolled into a morgue container. He travels into the future, encounters the painfully lovely Keira Knightly, and brings back real information that he had no other way to know. Not a good film to watch if you're claustrophobic, but I liked it. Official Flash™ movie sight here.

# I got some IMR Trailboss gunpowder last night. It really is much less dense than other powders. Nine ounces fills up a container that normally holds a pound. IMR's data shows 7.7 grains max for pushing a 200 grain .44 mag bullet to 988 fps (from an 8.275" barrel). 7.8 grains of the Hodgdon Universal that I use now pushes that bullet to 1,045 fps (barrel length not specified). I expect to load some rounds tonight or tomorrow night and shoot them on Friday or over the weekend.
