WWNC is the "World Wide Newton Conference". Einstein, a Newton OS emulator, is now running on the Sharp Zaurus Linux PDA. It's not production quality yet, but it will get there. I had the first Newton, back in 1994 or thereabouts. It was neat, but big and slow, and the batteries didn't last very long. There was a skunkworks project at Apple to reimplement the Newton applications in Dylan, with some success at speeding it up, but then Apple closed the Cambridge Research Lab, where Dylan was being implemented, and the Newton died, I thought, not too much later. I didn't know that it was being kept alive. Far out. [slashdot]
