Will your bumper sticker be your death warrant?
David Codrea - Codrea embeds this YouTube video from The Southern Poverty Law Center. Bob Paudert, chief of the West Memphis, Arkansas police, shows the cruiser video of his son and another cop stopping a regular-looking van on I-40 near Memphis, AK. The driver gets out of the car, and exits stage right. Shortly afterward, the passenger gets out of the car and fires an AK-47, killing both cops, says the narrator. The narrator then tells us that the vehicle's occupants call themselves "sovereign citizens", and that they are willing to kill or be killed for their beliefs.
The cops, of course, hunted down and killed the two sovereigns.
I commented:
These crazy sovereign citizens are willing to kill or be killed for their beliefs. Guess who else is willing to kill for their beliefs, but thinks they're somehow immune from being killed? The police, of course. They believe that because a group of so-called "representatives" write some words on a piece of paper, and a majority of those "representatives" agree, that the police are somehow authorized to use lethal force against anyone who violates the edicts written on that paper. What an absurd belief!
