Torchwood: Miracle Day
Starz has premiered a new series of Torchwood: Miracle Day. A miracle happens, and nobody on Earth dies. Ever. Tech of the Hub Blog links the Starz Screening Room, where, if you install their Widevine plugin, you can watch the first episode. I haven't yet tried that. The series is for sale or rent at Apple's iTunes, but I don't see the first episode there yet, only a short preview. Amazon doesn't have it. Neither does Netflix, though I'll bet they'll carry it on DVD after the 10-episode season is over. And, of course, there are probably already torrents, if you're into that.
The Starz stream works,
The Starz stream works, in Safari on my Mac after installing the plugin, and is of high enough quality for full-screen viewing, but it requires more bandwidth than my DSL line provides, and doesn't buffer very well, so I'm having to pause it manually for buffering.
New Torchwood only in CA iTunes store
I checked iTunes on my Mac. The new Torchwood series is so far only available in the Canadian store. Don't know the ramifications of switching stores, so I'll wait for it in the US store.
