The "Wild Woman" of the Harp
My wife and daughter saw Deborah Henson-Conant's one-woman show in Somerville, MA on Saturday night. When they asked if I wanted to go along, I pulled out a 1990 CD by her and said that though her music was "OK", IMHO, I didn't want to travel far away to hear her. Boy was I wrong. She has improved radically. They came back raving about the three hour concert, with a CD in tow. The music on the CD is full of energy, and it has three short videos giving a hint at how incredible her shows must be. She attaches her harp with straps, wears a headset microphone, and struts about the stage, playing and singing and dancing. Yowza! The photograph is by Brion Price from her Additional Publicity Photos page.
