We opted at TMM for a free CACert.org SSL certificate. Unfortunately, they aren't known to most browsers, so you have to click through the warning dialogs. In general, it's good to pay attention to those warnings, but a man-in-the-middle attack is still possible, if someone gets access to the private key of one of the CAs that IS known to your browser. This happened recently.

Hitting the link, I get a popup window that says, "The site's security certificate is not trusted!"
I don't know enough about the Innertubes to know whether or not that's a valid concern. Seems like you broached that subject once before, but I don't remember the upshot. Anyway, just FYI.
