Park Service Follies
Kim du Toit - Rocky Mountain National Park, near Boulder, Colorado, has an overabundance of elk. The park service intends to spend $18 over twenty years to hire professional riflemen to cull the herd. Kim proposes selling licenses to hunters and closing the park for a couple of weeks a year. That would MAKE money instead of costing money. Publicola and another Colorado resident explain that this plan will never fly. Can't have rednecks killing Bambi's cousin, in a National Park! Oh, my! Apparently, they also have a mountain lion problem, attracted by all the nice elk to eat. This is a danger to the helpless-victims-by-law park visitors. Without guns, man is no longer the top of the food chain. [kimdutoit]

Doesn't take guns
Without *weapons*, man is no longer at the top of the food chain. A pack of men with spears can take on just about anything; if you don't believe me, ask the saber-toothed tiger.
