National Ammo Day 2006

Kim du Toit - once again, it's time to purchase at least 100 rounds of ammunition, or the equivalent in reloading supplies. Do it during the week of November 11-19, or, if you can, on the 19th, Kim du Toit's birthday. Click on the image below for the National Ammo Day web site. [kimdutoit]

National Ammo Day

This post will stick at the top until November 20th. Be sure to look below it for new stuff. I got tired of the black background concerning McCain-Feingold's Incumbent Protection Act. I'm not going to vote anyway. At least not until it's time to vote from the rooftops, which is, unfortunately, likely to be soon.

du Toit and Nat'l Ammo Day

Submitted by Vaughn on Thu, 02 Nov 2006 20:56:41 GMT

A couple of years ago I read about this and even briefly had a banner on my pages for this. A week or so later I ran across one of his posts where either du Toit or one of his commentors was going on about letting their kids target practice with their .22s on the corpses of those they oppose ('liberals' most likely) as they hang from telephone poles. (no shit) That banner was off my pages within the hour. Your mileage may vary - but imo - that man is no friend of liberty.

I disagree with lots of du Toit's opinions

Submitted by Bill St. Clair on Thu, 02 Nov 2006 22:42:32 GMT

I disagree with lots of du Toit's opinions, but National Ammo Day is a good idea, no matter who's pushing it. So I support it.

The Ammo is OK

DuToit is not.

I'm going to compromise and buy the ammo but not his birthday.

If it was true ...

That, if it was true, should have challenged you sensibilities.

Believe it if you must, but verify it if you are going to repeat such a thing.

Vaughn,

My comment was aimed at you.

Do you have a link or a reference to back up your claim of

"letting their kids target practice with their .22s on the corpses of those they oppose ('liberals' most likely) as they hang from telephone poles."

?

I call for some substantiation of your claim.

Well?

Nat'l Ammo Day, etc..

Submitted by Vaughn on Sun, 05 Nov 2006 20:47:57 GMT

Skeptic - sorry I didn't reply sooner - I usually only stop by Bill's site every day or so. I understand your request and I'll see what I can do as far as substantiating what I'd written. I almost went ahead and tried to track the reference down when I initially posted as it is a fairly controversial statement.

Bill - or other readers - you might be able to set me the right direction here. Didn't du Toit change the name of his site last year after he shut down for a month or so - or did he migrate the archives when he restarted the site? In case I need to use the Internet Archives - what would have been his domain in 2004?

Fwiw - this would have been in 2004 when I ran across the material I mentioned earlier - about the same time of year - late Oct. or November. I'd seen his plug for Nat'l Ammo Day - thought it seemed a good idea - downloaded a logo and placed the link - and then within a week or so I ran across that reference.

I expect I'll reply either way by tomorrow about this time.

Skeptic,

Well - 45 minutes of looking around and I can give you the url for the statement I referenced earlier:
www.theothersideofkim.com/index.php/tos/single/7598/
This is an entry Mr. du Toit made on Nov. 14, 2004.
The exact quote I find is:
"The only downside to this mass emigration is that there will be fewer liberals left when we get round to hanging them from utility poles so that laughing children can use their rotting corpses for .22 target practice."

Buying Ammo Is A Good Thing

Submitted by MRJarrell on Mon, 06 Nov 2006 23:09:18 GMT

Shoot, I bought 150 rounds for my newest little buddy Friday. I expect I'll need some more by next weekend. While I disagree with Mr. Du Toit on a number of issues (a large number) buying ammo and shooting is a good thing. My new Taurus MillPro 145SSP looks to be a favourite of mine, so I expect I'll need lots of ammo in days to come!

National Ammo Week Starts Today

Today, November 11, 2006, is the start of this year's National Ammo Week. I'll likely buy my ammo on Tuesday night.

Why his birthday?

I understand National Ammo Day, but what's the deal with KDT's birthday? Why should I buy ammo on that day, particularly?

When Kim du Toit started National Ammo Day

Submitted by Bill St. Clair on Sun, 19 Nov 2006 11:50:42 GMT

When Kim du Toit started National Ammo Day, a few years ago, it was one day, his birthday. He expanded it the next year to the week surrounding his birthday, to make it easier for people to do. Why? Ask him.
