Jeff Quinn at Gunblast - Marlin has a new, short-barreled (18.5") lever rifle chambered in .45-70. Jeff says it works well with a wide variety of ammo. Stainless steel. Comes with a ghost ring rear and front post, and sports a rail for mounting a scope. Has a big loop lever, easily workable with gloved hands. Full-length magazine tube holds six rounds. Nice. Marlin's page. Listed at Gallery of Guns for an MSRP of $978.45. Currently out of stock.

You've said the reason yourself

You've said the reason yourself. Because bad men will abuse guns, good men must be allowed to have guns to defend themselves from the bad men. Because government mostly attracts bad men, they cannot be the ones who decide who's allowed to have guns. Hence, every man, woman, and responsible child has an unalienable individual, civil, Constitutional, and human right to obtain, own, and carry, openly or concealed, any weapon -- rifle, shotgun, handgun, machine gun, anything -- any time, any place, without asking anyone's permission.

Why man need gun (?)

Your assertion that man is inherently bad is misguided. The vast majority of people are inherently good and need only to protect themselves from the minority of people who are not.

We agree. Most men are good.

We agree. Most men are good. But because some men are bad, the good men must be able to defend themselves. Since there is nobody qualified to judge who is good, we must allow everyone to keep and bear arms. Since the good outnumber the bad, this works.

Why man Needs a gun

You ask why man needs a gun, I'll tell you. Others have touched on the subject but the simple fact is if guns are taken away the only ones that will give them up is the law abiding people (the good guys) thereby leaving the only the non-law abiding poeple with guns (the bad guys). I would call your attention to Austraila, over a year ago guns laws were pasted, according to an e-mail from a police officer in Sidney, and the crime rate has not gone down it in-fact has gone up with violant crime (with a gun) as much as 40%. The only thing gun laws do is help the criminal, as that gives them the ability to break into your home wether or not you're there and not have to worry about getting shot.
I'll give you another fact that most poeple seem to overlook, why do you think that this country, America, has not been invaded by another country? It's not just because we have a great military and all the law enforcement officers, this country has it's armed citizens to contend with as well.

I just picked one up, Shot it yesterday. First shot, blew a small orange juice bottle up at a 100 yards with a 400 grain flat Lead nose bullet. No scope only peep sight provided. I'm happy with it's consistancy out of the Box. Now I need to dial it in for 200 yds and mount a good scope.
