Are the Wheels Coming Off?

Submitted by Bill St. Clair on Mon, 08 Apr 2013 12:32:01 GMT  <== Politics ==>

If I am to believe what I read at III Percent Patriots and Western Rifle Shooters, America is done, and we're just waiting for the wheels to fall off, which could happen any day now. If I believe what I see in the world around me, though, inflation is pretty bad, but life goes on.

I'm not a prepper. I'm not likely to become a prepper, even if I believe that the power's about to go out and martial law is about to be declared. I'm an out-of-shape, middle-aged computer hacker who gets mad at stories he reads on the internet about a government gone wild. If the power goes out, and the internet stops working, I'll have no job and very little left to live for. Do I even want to survive in that world? Much of me doesn't. I think it'll have to happen before I know whether I'll just say, "fuck it," and eat my shotgun. But if I do decide to make a go at it, I won't be prepared, so I will have fucked myself in advance. Sigh...

SIDELINE ISSUE - Welcome back! And Firefox just told me your security certificate wasn't to be trusted, sternly warning me against coming here. Just thought you should know.

Known "problem". I intentionally

Known "problem". I intentionally stopped paying for an SSL certificate, going instead for a free certificate from www.cacert.com. Maybe I should add to the FAQ page a PGP-signed affirmation of the certificate hashes, but I doubt anybody would bother to check. So you have to either accept my certificate every 6 months, when I replace the old expired one, or add CACert's root certificate.

The Wheels are Off..

Welcome back Bill, though I doubt that you will stay with it for long simply because we both know that ranting about what is happening is like preaching to the choir.

Worrying about what the goons are going to do is rather idiotic I have found. They will do as they please, and no one can stop them. Have I thrown in the towel? No, but I have become more of a realists in my older days.

Twelve years ago I spent somewhere close to 15k in long term preps believing that we were soon to all be in the dark, and without food. I was younger then. In the last 18 months I have undergone 4 major surgery's and a oxy addiction. Now out the other side, I have come to realize that living 'in the moment' is way more important than ranting about what really can't be changed.

I'm closing my Forum that has been running now for 10 years.(I guess JJ saw it way before I did.) Just to tiring, and no change in the direction of this country for the better has happened by anyone, including me.

A side note. Went to the "fun show" last week. Nothing but sheep there paying top $$ for weapons. You could spot the 'patriots' easily as they stood out like a sore thumb. Are the sheep are arming to protect themselves from us? Seems that way.

Anyhow I digress. Welcome back, and live while you can. Enjoy those close to you every day, they is all that you can really count on.
