# I'm playing with Drupal as a possible replacement for BlogMax in maintaining this site. Drupal is a content management system, sort of a combination of weblog, wiki, and forum. It supports comments, search, polls, and RSS feeds out of the box, and has lots of user-submitted modules to extend its functionality. Multiple users can maintain it, over the web, and each can have his/her own weblog. It's written in PHP, using MySQL (or Postgress) as the database. I need to modify the interwiki module to get the shortcut feature I use for the reference links in square brackets at the end of each post, and a fast way to paste a blockquote tag into a post, but other than that it looks good. Of course, I also have to convert all my old content, but I don't think that will be hard. My only concern is whether it will slow down the page loads too much. I haven't done much of the template yet, but you can view what I've got so far, go to billstclair.com/drupal. I stayed up much too late last night learning about it. [walter]

# Douglas E. Stanton at Saved by a Gun - Our Story: Mercilessly Plan, Relentlessly Prepare, Violently Execute - guns save lives. In this case, six of them. [publicola]

# GeekWithA.45 - Peanut Allergy... - "There's a lot of really good reasons to have a blade on you at all times." For example, you might need to perform an emergency trachiotomy to save somebody's life. The Geek didn't need to do this, but he was thinking about it on an airplane flight sitting next to a woman with a peanut allergy. [geekwitha.45]

# Bittorrent now does UPnP, Universal Plug and Play. Don't know why that's important. [wes]
