Bullet Hoses?
Violence Policy Center - Bullet Hoses: Semiautomatic Assault Weapons--What Are They? What's So Bad About Them? - more "ammunition" in the battle to forbid civilian ownership of homeland defense rifles. Of course they've got it all wrong, but that won't matter since their language appeals to the sheeps' feelings. "Spray and pray" is the a lousy way to use a semi-auto rifle. The reason semi-autos are so effective, more effective than full-auto, is that they allow you to fire an entire magazine of well-aimed shots in a very short amount of time. Which is why they're such good homeland defense tools. [trt-ny]
Garry Reed, The Loose Cannon Libertarian - Parody Parity - modern life is already so absurd, it's hard to write parodies about it. Mr. Reed gives it a good try, however.
It's just as impossible these days to parody zero tolerance in our nation's public schools as it is to parody political correctness, gender neutrality and diversity. One example out of an endless supply: an elementary school student in Nampa, Idaho was reprimanded for wearing a patriotic T-shirt of a soldier holding a gun. You guessed it, the depiction "sent the wrong message." The school's dress code prohibits any clothing that might conceivably be violence-related. The school administrator, apparently utterly ignorant of the concept of self-parody, explained that they just wanted to provide "a safe learning environment for all." Exactly how is a T-shirt "unsafe?" Maybe he's afraid of potential newspaper headlines screaming "Students Gunned Down by Fully Automatic Garment."
