Monday Morning Blahs

Daylight Saving Time hit home this morning. I didn't wake up until almost 7:00. Hence, no time to read news. I shot my first round of Fred's Army Qualification Test targets on Saturday morning. Scored 177 out of a possible 250, which qualifies me, just barely, as a "Sharpshooter". Have to score 200 to be an "Expert" ("Rifleman" in Fred's book). Shouldn't be too hard. Most of my problem was incorrectly sighting on the targets, at which I'll likely do better next time. If you want to shoot better, and who wouldn't, this is one good way to do it. Liberty!

From GOP News & Views:

The bottom line is that if politicians weren't in the business of granting favors and exacting tribute, every single issue surrounding campaign finance reform would be irrelevant. After all, why would anyone spend money for influence, access, favors and tribute if the only thing that politicians do is to live up to their oaths to uphold and defend the Constitution? But, I' m afraid, most Americans want congressmen to do something else - to violate the Constitution in order to make it possible for them to live at the expense of others. -- Walter Williams

Charley Reese at MideastFacts.com - A pop quiz on the Middle East - Mr. Reese wrote this in February of 1998. It is still relevant. There's a Flash version here. [trt-ny]
