I'm writing this from the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel on Connecticut Avenue north of D.C. government district. Nice fast net connection.

All I Wanna Do

All I wanna do is have some fun
I got a feeling I'm not the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun
I got a feeling I'm not the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun
'till the sun comes up over Santa Monica Boulevard

from Sheryl Crow's Tuesday Night Music Club

(first 5 notes: 5, 6, 1, 2, 3 = All I wan na do)

I was driving to the office to meet my coworkers to go to D.C. It was raining hard. A big thunder storm. On the radio came Sheryl Crow's song above. I love that song. I always sing along. When we got to the chorus, I started sobbing. I was driving and singing and crying until she stopped. Wow!

I wanted to get the Sheryl Crow CD to listen to on my computer, so I walked with Victor about a mile from the hotel down Connecticut Avenue. I decided to get a portable CD player, so I bought a Sony D-EJ925. It's incredibly light, with a titanium case. Can't make it skip if I try. It cost considerably less than the price on Sony's web page. I also got Eric Clapton's Unplugged. Was tempted by Steely Dan's Two Against Nature, but I hadn't heard anything about it so I didn't get it. Listening to clips on the web has convinced me it's worth the bucks. Maybe I'll go back to the record store tomorrow... Before I got married I used to go to the record store weekly. Can't afford it any more. Sigh...

Oh, in case you didn't notice, I'm engaging in some shameless commercialism today. The record links above use Barnes and Nobles' affiliate program. if you buy records after clicking on the links, I get a few pennies.

Reverend Damuzi at Cannabis Culture via Marijuana.Com - Religious defence drives authorities mad - Ed Belanger, a Canadian minister (of the Church of the Reformed Druids) with a knowledge of the law, is foiling the fascists up north. Bravo! Damaged Justice has commentary worth reading on this story. He knows a lot about the soveriegn individual legal tactics, but doesn't want to spend the effort it takes to fight that fight. [MfM]

"It's an ancient message that I am teaching," Belanger told Cannabis Culture. "All things that people do aside from hurting other people or their property is acceptable. That gives you the liberty to do whatever you wish without hurting others. That's ancient common law."

George Graham at Petitions Online - End United Nations tyranny inside the U.S. - The New York Second Amendment sisters passed on a recommendation from the Tyranny Response team to sign this petition. I will likely sign it, but I haven't read the whole thing yet. It's long.

We remind you:
"It is not the function of our Government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the Government from falling into error."

Nancy Phillips and Rose Ciotta at the Philadelphia Enquirer - Battered cargo: The costs of the police 'nickel ride' BugMeNot - Some Philly cops like to take people for very rough rides. Some folks' injuries last for life. Sounds to me like proffr should soft drill a few of these nazis. [unknown]
