The whole homosexual marriage issue is simple

Perry de Havilland at Samizdata.net - get gummint out of marriage and there will no longer be any reason for anybody to get all hot under the collar about Dick marrying Joe. Marriage will just be another contract between individuals. Of course, that's how it should be, but religious intolerance gets in the way of this one big time. Conservative Christians, in general, hate faggots. I used to hate faggots, too, until I learned that I'm not one and never will be so they don't threaten me one wit. [samizdata]

"Marriage will just be another contract between individuals."

Marriage is a religious practice. Why would anyone that is not religious get married? Government needs to stay out of marriage due to it being a religious practice.

Let the churches decide whether two people should be allowed to be married or not. If Tom & Dick or Sue & Christine or even Becky & George want to get married, they can do so in their church. If their church won't allow it, then they can use the wonderful free market and find one that will.
