Old Horseman - a few words on citizen's band, GMRS, and FRS two-way radios, and how the GMRS early adapters are all hot and bothred at people who buy hand-held GMRS tranceivers and don't get licensed.

"And what's a country with a First Amendment to its Constitution doing with an armed federal bureaucracy that calls itself the Federal Communications Commission?"

-L. Neil Smith.

I'm a proud Bubblepack Pirate! I don't believe the Washington Government owns the electromagnetic spectrum, or that I need anyone's permission to use my own equipment. No country that boasts a First Amendment has any business having an FCC at all. And no patriotic Southerner is going to pay the Yankee bastards a fee to exercise the right to communicate freely!

Besides... Like a lot of Bubblepack Pirates in Dixie, I bought my radios at the same place I buy guns, ammunition, night vision optics, remote game cameras, and other spooky stuff. No wonder the FCC blows off the Radio Nazis when they report on Bubblepack Pirates... I wouldn't want to go out into the woods to try and bust heavily armed rednecks for radio technical violations either! A fellow could wind up as hog chow that way.

I laugh hysterically at the posts by the self appointed radio police on the GMRS sites, tracking down radio users and sending complaints to the FCC. Bwaaaa haa ha ha. The FCC will fix GMRS just like 27Mhz. Deregulate it and walk away. Unless there is coin to collect, or property to devour, the feds aren't interested. I seriously doubt the family in the 1993 Dodge minvan using unlicensed GMRS radios have the necessary finances or property for confiscation to interest the federales. It's all about the benjamins! Long Live Pirate Radio!!
