Apple presents iPhone OS 4.0, today at 10am California time (1pm eastern). Here's a list of liveblogs. Apple will likely post a tiny streamable video of the presentation shortly after it's over, and a better-quality version will probably be available tonight or tomorrow from the Apple Keynotes podcast on iTunes.

Funny how your site is

Funny how your site is called End the War on Freedom yet you keep boosting the iPad. This thing is like TV, it has no freedom. You get dictated to. Anyone with any creativity has to pay rent to get their software on the device even if it is just for them.

This device is Apple's war on freedom.

p.s. this is my 4th attempt to solve your captcha. I'm about to resort to software to solve it because I simply can't

Unlike governments, which dictate non-freedom at the point of a gun, Apple has to convince people, peacefully, to buy their products. I'm not real fond of their decision to act as gatekeeper for all software on their device, but, just as I think it ought to be a restaurant owner's right to allow, or deny, smoking, independent of any vote by any majority, no matter how large, or to refuse entry to absolutely anyone for absolutely any reason, I think it's Apple's right to make whatever restrictions they want on the devices they create. If you don't like their policies, don't buy their products.

As I said before, register an account, and you'll never have to enter another captcha. If you can't solve the captcha for registration, send me email, at the address at the bottom of the page, and I'll create an account for you.

Apple's gone beyond the pale

Apple's gone beyond the pale for even me with the following.

Daring Fireball: New iPhone Developer Agreement Bans the Use of Adobe’s Flash-to-iPhone Compiler

3.3.1 -- Applications may only use Documented APIs in the manner prescribed by Apple and must not use or call any private APIs. Applications must be originally written in Objective-C, C, C++, or JavaScript as executed by the iPhone OS WebKit engine, and only code written in C, C++, and Objective-C may compile and directly link against the Documented APIs (e.g., Applications that link to Documented APIs through an intermediary translation or compatibility layer or tool are prohibited).
