Boy charged with felony for carrying sugar
Justina Wang at The Chicago Sun Times - a 12-year-old boy in Aurora, Illinois has been charged with a felony, "possessing a look-alike drug," for taking a bag of powdered sugar to school for a science project. The idiots at the school have also suspended him for two weeks. [paladin]
East Aurora School District officials declined to comment on the case, citing privacy issues.
The district issued a written statement, which said: "The dangers of illegal drugs and controlled substances are clear.
"Look-alike drugs and substances can cause that same level of danger because staff and students are not equipped to differentiate between the two."
The East Aurora School District superintendent is Dr. Michael Radakovich, href="mailto:mradakovich@d131.org">mradakovich@d131.org, phone: (630) 299-5554, address: East Aurora District #131, McKnight Service Center, 417 Fifth Street, Aurora, Illinois 60505. The principal of the boy's school, K.D. Waldo Middle School, is Lenore Hernandez. I couldn't find her email address, but the school's phone number is 630-299-8400 and their address is 56 Jackson St., Aurora, IL 60505.

Subject: Arrest and suspension for powdered sugar?Dr. Radakovich,
I have just read a Chicago Sun-Times article about the arrest and suspension of a 12-year-old K.D. Waldo Middle School student for possessing a bag of powdered sugar. I thought the zero-intelligence, er... tolerance, insanity had become as absurd as possible, but you've taken it even further into inhuman fascist idiocy.
Look-alike drug my ass.
You will cancel the boy's suspension. Right now. You will make sure all charges are dropped against him, and all record of this is expunged. As soon as you have done that, you will resign as superintendent. It is obviously dangerous for you to have anything whatsoever to do with the education of children.
You, sir, no longer qualify as a human being. I hope that your soul, assuming you have one, burns for all eternity in the fires of hell.
