From jomama:

# Kalindras at The Firing Line - Black Powder Weapon for Defense - A story about a Texas guy who carries, concealed, an Uberti reproduction 1860 Army Cap-and-Ball revolver. Almost as funny as Blood for Odin. [clairefiles]

# Kim du Toit - Don't Bother To Knock - Kim chimes in on the principles behind the Cory Maye case, without mentioning Mr. Maye's name except via links to seven posts by Radley Balko. [picks]

So when Officer Krupke raids 209 Maple Avenue instead of 207 Maple Avenue, and gets shot dead by the terrified householder of #209, that should be classed as "tough titties" (I believe that's a legal term, I heard it from a lawyer buddy); and under no circumstances should the householder be charged with any offense--and most especially, not with capital murder.

# Jim Davies at Strike the Root - 2007: The Year in Review - a prediction of the horrors to come from the Busheviks. [root]

# The Liberty Committee - House to Vote on Patriot Act - this afternoon, the House will likely make their final vote on H.R. 3199, which would make permanent 14 of the 16 provisions of the U.S.A. T.R.A.I.T.O.R. Act. This bill was passed by the House and Senate back in July. Today, the House will vote on the conference committee report (click on the "Full Display" link at the bottom of the page to see the text. You can use the Liberty Committee link to quickly send an email to your Congress Critter. I told mine the following:

I consider voting "Yes" on the U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act to be nothing short of treason. The time for an accounting is rapidly approaching.
