Senate to Sheeple: Let the Herd Be Branded

# Ian at WOLFESBLOG - Color Code of Mental Awareness - a pretty good explication of Jeff Cooper's color code. [claire]

# Kim du Toit - Kahr P45 (.45 ACP) - I've drooled here over Kahr's .40 S&W carry piece. Now they're coming out with a .45 version. Not quite as small and light as their .40s, but close. "Shipping Summer 2005!!" Yum. [kimdutoit]

# The Lone Star Iconoclast - "> Karl Schwarz Running For President - interesting. A new independent party. I predict that if Mr. Schwarz becomes too popular that he will meet with an "accident". [smith2004]

# Ron Paul at LewRockwell.com - National ID Cards Won't Stop Terrorism or Illegal Immigration - why the REAL ID Act, HR 418, is a really bad idea. [lew]

Proponents of the REAL ID Act continue to make the preposterous claim that the bill does not establish a national ID card. This is dangerous and insulting nonsense. Let's get the facts straight: The REAL ID Act transforms state motor vehicle departments into agents of the federal government. Nationalizing standards for driver's licenses and birth certificates in a federal bill creates a national ID system, pure and simple. Having the name of your particular state on the ID is meaningless window dressing.

# Bruce Schneier - REAL ID - more on why the new national ID will be completely useless for its stated purpose. It'll be real good for gummint tracking of everything you do, though, and will encourage "papieren bitte" stops. [picks]

I've already written about national IDs. I've written about the fallacies of identification as a security tool. I'm not going to repeat myself here, and I urge everyone who is interested to read those two essays (and even this older essay). A national ID is a lousy security trade-off, and everyone needs to understand why.

Aside from those generalities, there are specifics about REAL ID that make for bad security.

# Declan McCullagh at CNET News via ZDNet - Senate approves electronic ID card bill - our illustrious senators ignored all the rantings from the herd, and voted unanimously last night to brand us all come May 2008. Fuck them. Fuck them all. [google]

# Fred Reed - Fred To Save Country: Megalomania And Evolutionary Reflux - some ideas for reforming the U.S. government. Hehe. [smith2004]

It has become apparent that I am going to have to reform the government of the United States. Frankly I'd rather remove one of my lungs with a ballpoint pen. Still, I'm nothing if not perfervidly public-spirited. I will not stand around like Nehru fiddling while Rome burned. Noblesse oblige, that sort of thing.

To begin, we have much too much democracy. We need to discourage people from voting. In fact, the gravest obstacle to the restoration of civilization in North America is universal suffrage. Letting everybody vote makes no sense. Obviously they are no good at it. The whole idea smacks of the fumble-witted idealism of a high-school Marxist society.

At least eighty percent of the electorate lives in blank medieval darkness regarding any matter of public policy or history. They might as well vote on the incisions needed in cardiac surgery as try to govern themselves. Poll after poll shows that even graduates of America's pathetic Halloween universities (where the young disguised as students are hornswoggled by mountebanks disguised as professors), which means most of the universities, do not know who fought in WWI, or within a century when the Civil War took place, or who Galileo was. These are the better informed. The rest barely know what century they live in.

Unalloyed ignorance is not an obvious qualification for governing, despite all appearances.

this country is a sham. the real terrorist are our supposed elected leaders. they are the only group of people i fear and of course i fear their brainwashed henchmen and enforcers the police, fbi, military etc. these stupid sheep, called "americans" actually think the government is trying to protect them. lolll the government is more interested in protecting the infra structure and keeping the institutions and banking system up and running, rather than protecting lives. they are more concerned with their sweet heart deals with large corporation and bannana republics and terrorist comglomerates such as the saudis. yet the sheep blindly follow as they are dumbed down, feminized and led into captivity, smiling all the way. baaaaaaaa! i am fortunate that i did not bring any children into this world, as my son would have been tranformed into female with a penis and my daughter a male with breasts as the sheep become one gendar society of nuetered sheep blindly following these clowns and puppets that are put forth in these rediculous elections. sad but true. and worse, in the near future those who speak out as i have done here, will be tracked through their national id card and jailed for dessention from the sheep mind set. resistance is futile!
