From freedomlaw:
"[P]eople have not yet discovered they have been disenfranchised. Even lawyers can't stand to admit it. In any nation in which people's rights have been subordinated to the rights of the few, in any totalitarian nation, the first institution to be dismantled is the jury. I was, I am, afraid." -- Gerry Spence

# Romanknight at American Minuteman - Special Police Officer Bulletin: U.S. Court Decisions Confirm "Driving a Motor Vehicle" Is a Citizens Right and Not a Government Granted Privilege. - I wish we could convince a majority of the police out there of this. Any cop who would support this right would be my friend. And I badly want the police to be my friend. Too bad most of them aren't. [minuteman]

What does this mean to the "patrol officer" who will be the only sworn "Executive Officer" on the scene, when knowledgeable Citizens raise serious objections over possession of insurance, drivers licenses and other restrictions? It definitely means these officers will be faced with a hard decision. (Most certainly if that decision affects state, city or county revenues, such as the issuing of citations do.)

Example: If a state legislator, judge or a superior tells a police officer to proceed and enforce a contradictory, (illegal), state law rather than the Supreme Law of this country, what is that "sworn officer" to do? Although we may not want to hear it, there is but one right answer, - "the officer is duty bound to uphold his oath of office" and obey the highest laws of the nation. THIS IS OUR SWORN DUTY AND IT'S THE LAW!

Such a strong honest stand taken by a police officer, upholding his or her oath of office, takes moral strength of character. It will, without question, "SEPARATE THE MEN FROM THE BOYS." Such honest and straight forward decisions on behalf of a government official have often caused pressure to be applied to force such officers to set aside, or compromise their morals or convictions.

As a solace for those brave souls in uniform that will stand up for law and justice, even when it's unpopular, or uncomfortable to do so...let me say this. In any legal stand-off over a sworn official "violating" or "upholding" their oath of office, those that would side with the "violation" should inevitable lose.

# Cindy Sheehan at LewRockwell.com - Dear George and Dick - a letter to the liar in chief and the vice liar about the killing of Ms. Sheehan's son by their war machine. [lew]

I apologize (not really, you don't deserve my apologies) for the familiarity, but I don't call the people responsible for my son's death: Mr, or Sir, nor do I have any respect for the offices that you have defiled. The only thing you both mean to me is pain and devastation. George and Dick, you are both shameful cowards who are sending our brave young people to die to make yourselves and your buddies unbelievably and fabulously wealthy. Neither of you have any idea of the true human, sorrowful cost of war nor do you care that you are ruining lives by the thousands and thousands. You both disgust me beyond belief. You are not, never have been, and never will be my President or Vice President.

This is what your irresponsible and reckless policies took from me: One year and four days ago my son, Casey Sheehan, was one of the consequences of your lies and betrayals. One of the tens of thousands that your arrogant, pre-emptive, imperialistic policies have killed. I don't know how any of you can sleep at night...I know I can't.

I have wanted to write this letter for over a year.

# R. J. Tavel at Freedomlaw.com - Amicus Curae Brief, re: Indiana Constitution, Article I Section 19 - a legal exposition of the right and duty of the jury to nullify the law when their consciences demand.

HUGO BLACK, a great believer in the Jury system, used to tell this story--

Years ago, in the foot-hills of Alabama, a tenant-farmer was charged criminally with stealing a cow from his landlord, and was brought to trial. As was frequently the case in rural America, the Jurors selected for the trial were acquainted with everyone, including the accused and his victim. Each juror knew that the farm's landlord was a nasty bastard who tormented his neighbors, while frequently treating the town's orphans and widows with derision. By the same token, the tenant-farmer was the salt of the earth, beloved by everyone. But still, the evidence of his guilt was indisputable. After the evidence was in and the jury retired to deliberate, it quickly returned to the courtroom to announce its verdict: "If the accused returns the cow, we find him not guilty." The judge was infuriated. His anger heightening, he commanded the jury to return to the jury room to deliberate --shrilly chastising them for their flagrantly "arrogant" and "illegal" verdict. Not a moment passed when they re-appeared in the tense courtroom to trumpet their new verdict: "We find the accused not guilty -- and he can keep the cow."

# Gmoneyxxx44 at iPod Lounge - ipod mini click wheel lags!!!! - my iPod click wheel stopped responding to finger rotation, the only way to move between selections. I thought it was broken and I'd have to pay Apple $100 to make it work again. Resetting fixed it. Yay! [google]

try reseting your ipod by switching the hold on then off and then hold the middle and menu button for 10 sec. this worked for me. so good luck!

I had varying luck with it

I had varying luck with it myself. It would fix it sometimes, for a while, and then it would break again. It has been working flawlessly of late. Not sure why. But you might try getting a firmware update from the Apple iPod site. Make sure you have your plug-in charger handy before you install it, as you need to plug it in in order to burn the update.

Doesn't work for me either - piece of shit apple iPods. I'm buying an iRiver next time. Had nothing but problems over the past few months - first the battery kept f**king up, then it would only connect to my computer on some occassions, now the click wheel doesn't work. I tried pressing the white middle button and menu button at the same time but nothing happens. Also when I plug my iPod into my computer, i've tried restarting but all it does is charge and doesnt say "Do not Disconnect" piece of shit Apple

I have a 3rd Generation Nano Video and occasionally the clickwheel wouldn't turn left, and was jumpy turning clockwise. After reset though, it works fine again!

Submitted by bobby k. on Tue, 05 Jan 2010 04:52:46 GMT

the scroll pad wheel stopped working on my 80 gb. i-pod.i took it to the apple store, the guy at the genius desk said sorry the wheel is broke.he looked it up on his computer and said oh sorry you are out of warranty to.he said it wouldn't be worth fixing ,for the amount it would cost to fix it you could almost buy a new one. good thing i didn't listen to him .i almost threw it out the window on the way home. i listen to someone on this webpage , they said to restore your i-pod to the factory settings then re-download all your music.it worked ! it's like nothing was ever wrong with it. its like brand new. thanks who ever gave me that idea, and it wasn't the guy from the genius desk at the apple store.
