Miserable Failures: GW, Moore, and Hillary
"Political correctness is just tyranny with manners." -- Charlton Hestonand:
"A woman who demands further gun control legislation is like a chicken who roots for Colonel Sanders." -- Larry Elder
From yesterday's comments:
"People are drunk on the state's koolaide." -- Don Galt
# Glenn Beck at Free Republic - Michael Moore has been Google bombed thanks to you - Do a Google search for Miserable Failure. Today's results are George W. "Miserable Failure" Bush, Jimmy Carter, who I won't Google bomb, Michael "Miserable Failure" Moore, and Senator Hillary Rodham "Miserable Failure" Clinton. Hehe. [smith2004]
# Mark Helm at The Albany (NY) Times Union - Court allows secret arrests - the Supremes refused to hear an appeal of an appeals court ruling allowing the government to keep secret the names of people detained after 9/11. Remember, you could be "disappeared" next. I found this in the dead-trees version of the local paper, but it's been blogged by others. [grabbe geekwitha.45]
"The Justice Department is keeping the names secret to cover up its misconduct -- holding people incommunicado and without charges," said Kate Martin, director of the Center for National Security Studies, one of the groups that brought the lawsuit.
Steven Shapiro, legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union, another group involved in the lawsuit, said he believes the secret arrest of more than 700 people violates basic due process rights.
...
Attorney General John Ashcroft praised the court's action, saying that "time and time again, the courts have upheld the careful steps the Justice Department and federal government have taken since the devastating attacks of September 11, 2001."
# GeekWithA.45 - The Professor's Tale - how a neighborhood stood up to the local mob boss and won. I wish this would work with our "representatives" in the government. Threaten one of them, however, and he'll send an army of ninja's to your door. [geekwitha.45]
# Henrietta Bowman at Sierra Times - "The Hunter" Busted - nice to see some coverage of Hunter's case at Sierra Times. [sierra]
Sunni Maravillosa, Claire Wolfe, Debra Ricketts, Lady Liberty and now, good old Henrietta, are coming to the defense of fellow Sierra Times contributor, Jeffrey "The Hunter" Jordan. The Liberty Round Table, a Sierra Times sponsor at one time, is backing Hunter in his defense. It is beginning to look like a Sierra Times "Old Home Week".
Jeff is a Second Amendment activist and he has a concealed weapons permit in his home state of New Hampshire. Over the holidays. Jeff was pulled over for speeding by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Now, he is being treated like Clyde Barrow, Public Enemy #1. Considering Ohio passed concealed carry shortly after Jeff's arrest, it would be ironic if he is convicted on the felony charges in Ohio and prohibited from owning a weapon for the rest of his life. Good luck in your defense, Hunter!
# www.eurosimulator.com has some pretty good Flash rifle and pistol shooting simulators. [scopeny]
