A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him.

He asked, "What are all those clocks?"

St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move."

"Oh," said the man, "whose clock is that?"

"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie."

"Incredible," said the man. "And whose clock is that one?" St. Peter responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life."

"Where's Bush's clock?" asked the man.

"Bush's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan.

Carl F. Worden at Sierra Times - The Police Contact: Silence Is Golden - Don't ever tell a cop anything. Nice to see a reenforcement of my belief that field sobriety tests, breath tests, urine tests, hair tests, and blood tests are all blatant fifth amendment violations. If they ask for your permission to do anything, always say no. The police are not your friend. [sierra]

I have debated writing this article for months. I am a strong supporter of law enforcement, and I have an extensive background in law enforcement. Even now, I have a number of conflicts which cause me great concern with how the information I am about to impart to you will be used. I do not want to enable the criminals in our society to thwart justice, but I am committed to protecting the innocent from what appears to be an explosion of police abuse. In a case like this, I choose to protect the citizens.

...

Okay, you got that? You cannot be forced to provide evidence against yourself, therefore you must not allow any tests whatsoever, be it field sobriety "walking the line", or a blood or breath test. Period. If you will follow these instructions, they have no case against you and they are also barred from taking away your driving privileges under the same Supreme Court rulings.

...

There are literally thousands of people behind bars today who tried to talk their way out of a law enforcement contact. Don't fall for the ploy. Law enforcement officers are trained to bluff you into making denials or statements. They will appear friendly and reasonable. They will appear willing to help resolve the matter. They will tempt you to talk about it and appear sympathetic. Don't fall for it. Say nothing. Give them nothing. Deny nothing. Give them NOTHING. Stick your tongue between your teeth and bite down - HARD. You are to be a marble statue. You do not exist. You have no past, you have no address, you have no name, you have no social security number. You are to give them nothing whatsoever to work with.

John Ross - Curtis Pitts: The Greatest Cold War Hero You Never Heard Of - concerning the Pitts Special, a small, homebuilt biplane that beat the Russian government's models in the sixties.

Edgar J. Steele - In Defense of Racism: Part 4 - Cultural Imperatives - Nurture overwhelms nature more as intelligence increases. More politically incorrect (likely) truth from Mr. Steele.

Bottom line: Behavior is almost entirely the product of genetics, culture and environment and there are profound racial differences. Very little intellectual influence can be expected to overwhelm established behavioral response patterns, both learned and inherited, even less as one's IQ declines. Character is the manifestation of certain behavioral response patterns and, thus, differs markedly between the races, and is of more importance in life than mere IQ. Some of these differences enhance day-to-life. Some, however, are dangerous.

Jeff Cooper's Commentaries - August 2003: High Summer - summer is a good time to practice your marksmanship; today is Lion Day for Colonel Cooper, the day he shot his one and only lion; Gunsite freebies for returning warriors; 21st century military not a promising era for the marksman; the factory has discontinued production of the 376 Steyr rifle; the problem of marketing a product that lasts for three generations; C Stories liklely available for Christmas; Europe now starting pistol contests in Condition 4, unloaded. What ever for?; hanging in irons; possess an RPG, be pigged; USA considered last free nation on earth; the absurdity of demands for slavery reparations; pocket 45 pistols considered useful; blame the man, not the tool; practice your pistol from your automobile, if you can arange it; "the goblins will get you if you don't watch out"; "Wrath is better than sorrow"; a leopard seal kills a snorkeler; "A man who has never been in a major battle can never be really sure of himself"; every house should have a .22 rifle; shooting contests should replicate live action; dependence on shooting sticks considered undignified; more girls than boys put in for hunting licenses last year; assasination by bomb considered unimpressive; Osama not likely to give himself up, though it would likely serve his cause.

When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire-building by George Bush. He answered by saying the following:
"Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those who did not return."

It became very quiet in the room.

and the women come out to cut up your remains,

According to the police report, the note, which was placed on top of clothes in a black gym bag read: ''[Expletive] you. Stay the [expletive] out of my bag you [expletive] sucker. Have you found a [expletive] bomb yet? No, just clothes. Am I right? Yea, so [expletive] you.''

James Bovard at The Future of Freedom Foundation - Bush's WMD Flimflams - more on Bush'es weapons of mass distortion.

There is no reason to presume that Bush was more deceptive and manipulative on the war on Iraq than he is on the war on terrorism or other subjects. The main difference is that the evidence of false claims on Iraq is now stark, especially after the U.S. invasion.

James Bovard is author of Lost Rights (1994) and the forthcoming Terrorism and Tyranny: How Bush's Crusade is Sabotaging Peace, Justice, and Freedom (St. Martin's Press, September 2003) and serves as a policy advisor for The Future of Freedom Foundation.
