We watched the
Harry Potter movie yesterday afternoon. Almost three
hours, and my 4 year old sat in rapt attention the entire time. Though
some scenes were left out, it followed the book well enough for my 9
year old to predict large numbers of utterances (he's listened to the
book tapes 20 or 30 times). Rated PG, but only the ogre scene was
scary to my 4 year old, and not enough so that she said anything
during the movie. And I liked it too.
I tried the Laissez Faire City
Mail Vault last night. Secure PGP email, up to 2 megs of storage
and two nyms (pseudonyms) for free. More for $20/year. In its original
incarnation, it required software on your machine. Now it's completely
web based. Works with any 128-bit SSL browser. Worked fine with Opera
6.0. Very nice.
