Steve Trinward at Sierra Times - Christines' Story Not Your Ordinary Travesty - more on the Ore-gone government snatch-and-sell of the children of Brian and Ruth Christine. In the last installment I read they had rescued their children from the state. Now they are sitting in a Montana jail, the children are back in Ore-gone, and Ore-gone officials are slobbering over Ruth's new baby, about to be born. Edgar J. Steele, he who attempted to represent JoAnn McGuckin, has taken over their defense, though he doesn't think much of their legal chances. This one sounds to me like time to terminate the command of the entire Ore-gone Services for Children and Families. [grabbe]

Declan McCullagh at Politech - Judge sentences Jim Bell to 10 years in federal prison - 10 years and a $10,000 fine for "stalking" an i.r.s. agent. [grabbe]

Scott Cattanach at anti-state.com - Like These People Really Care About Your Children: Part III - a few cases of what government agents have done to children in the name of protecting them. If you or I behaved the same way, we would be called psychopaths. [anti-state]

If a parent responded to his kid's drug use with a fully automatic weapon, he would be called a maniac. When a politician responds to that kid's drug use with a fully automatic weapon, he is called a Republican. Compare that to how a cop or a parent would be treated for using a gun to stop the rape of a child. Almost everybody would support either the cop or the parent.

Jim Davidson at anti-state.com - The Proper Role of Government - nada, zero, zip, naught, nothing, zilch, rien, nichts. Your property is yours. If someone attempts to take it from you, it is your right to kill the bastard, no matter which funny hat or fancy uniform he's wearing, and no matter how many people voted for it. [anti-state]

Shall we believe in the UN, as if it were peopled by demi-gods? No. I refuse to worship other men. I reserve worship for God, who has demonstrated His power. To worship men would be an error.

Yet, the UN insists on respectful attention, even worship. We are told by the UN that it is time to get rid of small arms, because they are used for killing. Yet, who is at risk from small arms? Those who run governments are most at risk, because they offend against property, because they tax and regulate, because they are corrupt, because they give jobs to their worthless nephews, because they seek to interfere in the affairs of others. And it is precisely the people who run governments who are involved in setting UN policies.

If men allow ourselves to be disarmed, we will be made to kneel. A man who is armed is free; one who is unarmed is either a slave now, or soon will be. One might say that such men are slaves in escrow. Whether the kneeling is done in abject servitude, or to make some men worship the UN, is irrelevant. Men, of their own free will, may choose to kneel to acknowledge the power of God; they should not kneel against their will. Freedom of conscience is especially vital.

Harry Valentine at anti-war.com - Utopia: Socialist Paradise - Mr. Valentine reports on the commU.N.ist-certified socialist paradise of which he is a serf. [anti-state]

Dan Mahoney at anti-state.com - Reply to Private Law - a reply to Bob Murphy's Private Law article. Voluntary contracts are not a sufficient basis for law. A theory of property must first be established. Mr. Mahoney doesn't say this, but a theory of property is one of the first things that Andrew J. Galombos establishes in his book Sic Itur Ad Astra, which I still have not finished. [anti-state]
