Freedom Fighter Net

Sierra Times - What if? - one of Henrietta Bowman's discussion groups. Worth a look. Strong stuff. I liked one of the posts so much that I saved it as De Facto vs. De Jure. Good legal reminders of the fact that any unconstitutional law is null and void. From another post: [sierra]
Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle! Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will. Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress. -- Frederick Douglass, August 4, 1857.

Freedom Fighter Net is a very interesting looking place. Handle with care. I especially liked The Essence of "Nazi", a June 1995 letter to the Washington Times from Thomas Colton Ruthford. Freedom Fighter's RKBA page is also good.

Yes, indeed, I remember the Nazis and they weren't Republicans, or "right wing", or "patriots" or "militias". They were Socialist monsters.

anonymous at Ohio Valley IMC - REVOLUTION!!!!!! REBELLION!!!!! Or do we just call it a "riot?" - a fiery introduction to a CityBeat article on the Cincinatti rebellion. I've been tracking this IMC recently just for fun. Most of the folks there are big time anti-capitalists, which doesn't match my taste, but I still enjoy some of what they write. ["ovimc"]

Any liberal Republicrat who thinks public schools shouldn't be abolished and money transferred to PRIVATE, NON-RELIGIOUS schools hasn't visited too many public schools lately in poor neighborhoods. They are basicly minimum-security prisons with guards on most floors and floor passes needed to do anything. With ever-increasing bureaucratic layers over the bitter teachers who want evermore pay due to evermore stress dealing with evermore micromanaging bosses and layers of bureaucracy. With more money per student spent (if all costs are counted) than most other schools, public, private, or suburban. Cincinnati non-commercial radio station WAIF 88.3 FM has some great Afro-centric shows on Friday evenings. The shows recently had some great info on private black schools in other cities where the students are doing well, and aren't taught TO SUBMIT TO THE MAN.

Ryan McMaken at LewRockwell.com - Columbine Follies - the official report is finally in on the behavior of law enforcement at Columbine. Conclusion: they acted incompetently. Duh. Guess what folks. If you want to protect your life, you are responsible. Don't expect anyone else to do it. [lew]

Apparently, the preferred method of law enforcement at Columbine was to: (1) Make sure that no law abiding citizens inside the school carried fire arms. (2) If guns enter the school, seal it off and let no one out. (3) Stand outside "minimizing police casualties" while the killers murder all the law abiding citizens and allow all wounded victims to bleed to death.

Now let us compare this to law enforcement's behavior at the Branch Davidian complex in Waco: (1) Start yelling "Showtime!" and charge the compound with machine guns blazing. (2) If innocents try to surrender, shoot them and continue the destruction. (3) Gas everyone inside and burn down the complex. (4) Dismiss dead civilians as "religious fanatics".

Minority Mike at LewRockwell.com - GASAKI!!! - How do you kill a snake? Gasaki! Get a stick and kill it. Mike finds a couple of snakes that could use some gasaki. [lew]

Jeff Elkins at LewRockwell.com - The Deadliest Ally - claims that in 1967, Israeli war planes attacked the USS Liberty in international waters. Robert S. McNamara, then secretary of defense, canceled their rescue. They managed to escape with their lives anyway. Had any other country behaved this way, it would have meant war. [lew]

There are two new articles in The Libertarian series by Vin Suprynowicz:

  • "Let the Pork Wars begin" - Senator Robert Byrd has been threatening his fellow democrats with a reduction of pork for their states if they vote yea on gw's tax cut. Bring it on. Let's show them a real tax cut. 2 trillion per year every year.
  • "Another nadir in homicidal hair-splitting" - Vin's take on the supreme's recent medical marijuana ruling. The supremes had a good chance to declare unconstitutional the entire war on freedom, er... some drugs. They punted. To quote Gomer Pyle. Shame, shame, shame.
Because, you see, the entire federal drug war -- all of 21 U.S.C. -- is blatantly unconstitutional, and any high court obeying its oath to preserve our government of limited power (as opposed to insisting we prostrate ourselves before the majesty of the federal government's plenary authority, holding us down by the elbows while the DEA greases up and services us from behind) would have thrown it out in its entirety the first time they got a look at it.
