WTF?: Starting to really wonder about Lew Rockwell's Blog

Paleo Pat at Political Byline - looks like Lew Rockwell's strategy of printing non-anarchist essays snagged a state-lover. When Lew showed his true nature, anti-state, this person thought he was being anti-American. Hey, Pat. I love my country, but I hate your government. And so does Lew. When you're ready to stop pointing guns at people over every little thing, we can talk. But I'm not going to close comments on my blog, like you did on yours. Afraid of a little debate, eh?

Um, No.

Comments close after 10 days. Of course, if you'd actually looked around, you'd known that.

However, to give you some leeway... I did just upgrade the theme, so, I have to go back and put all those little notices in there. So, stuff like this won't happen.

For the record, I am not a Neo-Con. I am a Paleo-Con. I felt Iraq was quite the mistake. Afghanistan is another story.

Anyhow... let's not fight. Okay?

Thanks,

-Pat

I read that you were having some spamming issues. Hopefully I read correctly and my comment gets through. If it does:

It's not just lewrockwell it's all other sites that are considered mainstream in the internet similar to lewrockwell. I tend to visit blogs and other small sites like this (which is not a small site) but that ordinary people run rather than organizations and such.

Oops. Missed the January 4 date on that

Oops. Missed the January 4 date on that. Ancient history.

Note that nowhere did I call you a neocon. Somebody tweeted that, but it wasn't me. So, when did Afghanistan attack the US? Because if they didn't, then it's a crime for US soldiers and their chain of command to attack them. Nuremberg II, anyone?

Yes, But....

Al-Qaeda tried in Afghanistan and their HQ is there. Why we are there. Iraq was Bush distraction, and mistake.

P.S. I answered you:

And I replied

And I replied:

Interesting that you see me as a left-libertarian. I'm an L. Neil Smith libertarian. I believe in the Zero Aggression Principle (ZAP). If you don't, you're no kind of libertarian. If you do, you are.

Thing is. ZAP pretty much implies anarcho-capitalism. It most assuredly forbids taxation. Or the drug war. Or any kind of mandatory licensing or registration.

I don't see the world as a bunch of governments, or religions, or social clubs, where an attack by one member of the club justifies killing the wives and children of other members of the club. I see it as a bunch of individuals, some of whom, like the police, are members of tight-knit gangs that might make it necessary to go to war on the whole gang were I to successfully defend myself from an attack by one of them.

Are the Afghanis such a gang? I don't know. I sincerely doubt it, however. Is there any such thing as al-Queda, except as a device to frighten Americans into giving up their individual sovereignty? I don't know. I doubt you do either. Did a small group of Muslims fly airplanes into the World Trade Center towers? I don't know. I doubt you do either. Unless you were there. And actually saw it happen. But that still wouldn't tell you who the pilots were.

So why are you so gung-ho on attacking people half a world away? Are you likely to kill your neighbor because you read a story in the newspaper claiming that he's a bad man?

But I think we're closer together in opinions than I thought when I wrote my blog entry. Cut the love it or leave it crap, and we might even get along.

America is NOT the federal government. We need to SAVE America from that gang of liars, theives, and murderers.

Oh, when I talked about pointing guns at people over every little thing, I wasn't talking about justified self defense. That's when you SHOULD point guns at people. I was talking about the fact that America's legal system puts the death penalty on traffic tickets. You'll likely think that's ridiculous, but that's the bottom line of EVERY "law". Obey or we'll fine you. Pay or we'll arrest you. Come along or we'll force you. Don't defend yourself from our kidnapping or we'll kill you. Every "law" points a gun at your head.
