Plasma fusion becomes a reality?
Alexander Demianchuk of Reuters via RT - Researchers at Lawrenceville Plasma Physics (LPP) in New Jersey have published a paper claiming to have solved two of three requirements for a practical fusion reactor. They've got temperature and confinement. Now they need to increase density.
The Press Release from LPP says:
Lawrenceville Plasma Physics has published peer reviewed results in Physics of Plasmas showing that the firm has achieved two of three criteria for net fusion energy, meaning garage-sized fusion generators could be possible in as few as five years.
Fusion energy has been 20 years away for most of my life. Nice to hear it's now only five years away. I won't hold my breath, but I'll look forward to cheap energy.
