Denny Crane (William Shatner) on Gun Control
This YouTube video shows William Shatner, playing Denny Crane in Boston Legal, being mugged by a gun-wielding black man, and demonstrating, in spirit, though not in detail, the proper response. [gunlaws]

Precisely. Well said.
By they way, last I checked, a long time ago, Boston Legal was a mouthpiece for the nanny left. Did they suddenly grow a pair?
Boston Legal
I've never watched a whole episode, but I've seen some mighty liberty-oriented soliloquys on YouTube.

The Details
I said "though not in detail" above, because we all know that you don't shoot a goblin in the kneecap and feet. Most of us, not as cool under fire as an actor pretending to be someone who is supernaturally cool under fire, would have our vision reduced to a tunnel and our physical control reduced to gross body movements. Hitting center of mass at arms length is an accomplishment under those limitations. Besides, a man with a bullet in the knee and feet, if he's sufficiently resistant to pain, can still shoot back. Not so with a .45 to the chest, for most assailants. But that 1 in a 1000 is why you keep shooting until the threat is stopped.
