I learned last night that VPN does not work through my LinkSys 802.11b/AirPort/modem network connection. Bummer, man. It's back to the wire when I work from home. This probably means that it won't work if I change from modem to DSL. Even bigger bummer.

Hi-Tech Ammunition has some really good prices on military surplus bullets and powder. [assaultweb]

Jonathan Valania at Philadelphia Weekly - Smokey and the Bandit - Good article on the trials and tribulations of Ed Forchion, the New Jersey Weedman, www.njweedman.com. [unknown]

L. Neil Smith at Roadhouse Sierra - Congratulations, Republicans: You've Got Yourself An FDR - comparison between FDR's complicity in Pearl Harbor and GWB's complicity in September 11. Membership required. Get one today. [sierra]

There are significant differences, however, between the two men and the two events. First, September 11 was not the act of a nation-state, but of individual criminals; it's nothing short of insane to wage war against a country -- Afghanistan -- filled border to border with innocent people. On the other hand, Japan was not perceived by FDR as the future site of a transAsiatic oil pipeline owned by his political contributors.

J.J. Johnson at Sierra Times - Kosher Militia Goes to Active Duty in the Big Apple - J.J. covers the Jewish Defense Group's plans to defend Jewish neighborhoods in Brooklyn. [kaba]

May God Bless 'em.

AP via The Jerusalem Post - NYPD Police Chief nixes idea of armed Jewish patrols in Brooklyn - New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly claims he'll arrest anyone he finds walking around armed in Brooklyn. I hope Mr. Lloyd proceeds with his plan and instructs his security force to shoot dead any cop who hassles them. One of the reasons for the second amendment is to make sure that government is always afraid of the people. [smith2004]

AP via Yahoo News - Court Rejects Gun Appeals Cases - the Supreme's have refused to hear US v Emerson or Haney v US, without comment. This leaves standing the current "status quo" that the second amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms, but that the government can restrict that right basically at will. [kaba]

Stanley for Senate - FEC Report 1/31/02 - filed under protest with a letter outlining the constitutional infringements of the filing requirement. [smith2004]

Here is the financial report on FEC Form 3 which your unconstitutional rules and regulations require me to file with your office. I am filing this report on behalf of the Stanley for Senate campaign, and under protest.

I assert that your rules violate the Constitution of the United States in three specific areas.
  • The Congress has no specific delegated authority to require this filing.
  • Your rules violate my rights of free speech and free association, which are guaranted by the First Amendment.
  • Your rules further subject me to involuntary servitude, which is prohibited by the Thirteenth Amendment.
