Troy, New York, is just across the Hudson from Albany. I drove through Troy on Friday evening on the way from work to the shooting range. At the Route 7 entrance to Troy is a sign, saying something like "Welcome to Troy, All American City, Home of Uncle Sam", with a picture of Uncle Sam. There's another sign touting some school sports team. But on Friday there was a new sign right below the "Welcome to Troy" sign. Reproduced below:

Wonder how long it will take for the powers to be to notice and remove it. It was quite large, and very well done.

I saw another sign in front of a church near the shooting range:

What's Missing?
U R

We saw the Spiderman movie yesterday afternoon. Quite well done except for a little excessive sappinness near the end. They left the door wide open for a sequel in which the villain's son becomes the new villain.

Bob Murphy at anti-state.com - The Birth of Chaos - Mr. Murphy tells the story of meeting the publisher of his just-released pamphlet: Ron Pramschufer, head of booksjustbooks. Turns out, Mr. Pramschufer likes unorthodox books. You can order Chaos Theory, Two Essays on Market Anarchy here for $8. They planned to start printing on May 1st.
