Kevin Joseph Tull at Liberty for All - Everything I Need To Know, I'm Learning From My Three Year Old - even Mr. Tull's three year old has learned natural law. If only grown-ups would practice it. [smith2004]

A listener, Mark Wilson, sent me this gem. What a tremendous idea! Here, I'll just let you read his e-mail to me.
"Whenever a bill is found to be unconstitutional, every senator or representative who voted for the bill gets a strike against them. When a total of three strikes is accumulated, that senator or representative is kicked out of office, immediately, no appeal. The strike count is cumulative over a career. This means that strikes accumulated while a representative, still count even if the person moves up to the senate, ... or even to the presidency."
What a tremendous idea! Wouldn't you like to hear some elected official trying to explain to us just why he couldn't support this bill? Please, Senator, explain to us just why you should be allowed to continue ignoring our Constitution and remain in office!

I don't know if this idea is original with Mr. Wilson --- if it was, let's make him our hero of the day -- unless, that is, someone manages to cap Osama today.

H.R. 2356, the "Bipartisan Campaign Finance Reform Bill", passed the senate yesterday by a vote of 60 to 40, just barely enough to stop the republican fillibuster. Bush has said that he intends to sign it into law. Efforts are already underway to challenge it in the courts. The first amendment has been seriously compromised. Every representative and senator who voted for this abomination is guilty of felony Bill of Rights violation.

Traitors All lists the traitors who voted for H.R. 2356 and demands their immediate resignation.

vote.com's current pole:

Should President Bush Sign the Campaign Finance Reform Bill Into Law?

Yes: Sign this bill to rein in special interests and reduce the role of money in politics

No: Veto this unconstitutional attempt to limit political speech
at 8:46am EST the NO's are ahead with 10,703 (78%) vs. 3,019 (22%) votes. I, of course, voted to veto the trash.

Alexandra Meyerson at The Albany (New York) Times Union - Rockefeller drug laws don't protect us - a good letter proposing the repeal of New York's Rockefeller drug laws. That would be a good start. As you know, I believe that all drugs should be completely deregulated. In the words of Vin Suprynowicz:

This does not mean that "Marijuana should be available by prescription." It means that morphine sulfate should be available in five pound bags at the supermarket for a couple of bucks, like sugar... but probably in a different aisle, to avoid confusion.

Joe Eldred at the Times Herald-Record (Middletown, NY) - Get U.S. out of the U.N. - you need to scroll down to find this letter. Copied in its entirety.

When United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan accepted the latest Nobel Peace Prize, he repeated his desire to have U.N. power supersede the independence of all nations (referred to as "states" by Mr. Annan). He said, "The sovereignty of states must no longer be used as a shield for gross violations of human rights." Yet he welcomes communist China, Iran, Sudan and other violators of human rights as members of the U.N.

Not only have successive leaders of the United Nations made their campaign against national independence well known, the organization they lead continues to take control of this planet. The world body's lengthening list of commissions, programs and agencies touch on virtually every element of humankind's activity.

There is only one sane course for a nation that wishes to retain its independence and protect the freedom of its people. It is to withdraw from the U.N. before the world body's relentlessly increasing grasp for more and more power becomes impossible to oppose. Please call and write your federal representative to support Rep. Ron Paul's HR 1146, which will get us out of the United Nations and get the United Nations out of the United States.
