Give Me Democracy or Give Me Death

JOG Webmaster at OrlinGrabbe.com - a satirical screed on the difference between a republic and a democracy.

The USA is not a Democracy, and for good reason as explained by historical records found preserved in the Wikipedia vaults:

"Direct democracy was very much opposed by the framers of the United States Constitution and some signers of the Declaration of Independence.

They saw a danger in majorities forcing their will on minorities."

(Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_democracy#United_States )

After much pipe smoking pondering, these wise men felt the only logical solution was to make sure this fear of the majority, or "MOB RULE" could not force their will on the minorities.

Thus the only logical thing to do was to create a system where a small minority of men would be able to force their will upon the majority.

For 200 Years that precious document: The Constition, has ensured, as the Founding Fathers feared and wisely foresaw, that the Majority would NEVER be able to force their will upon the minority.

Today, as a testament to this, as the Founding Fathers intended, there are a minority of men, only a few hundred, in the District of Kings, whom force their will upon 300 Million people.

Thank God I am an American.
