Orange County Shooters - Safe Room - more guns in one room than in most stores. And this is a personal collection. Wow!

I sent the following email to Rush Limbaugh yesterday afternoon. I chose Rush because his show has a large audience. I listen to him sometimes while driving to lunch, mostly for comic relief.

Rush,

How come no one is talking about the obvious solution to the DC killer? Put a bounty on his head. Suspend local laws forbidding open carry of rifles, and let the market work its magic. The bounty doesn't even have to come out of our stolen tax dollars. Collect donations.

International A.N.S.W.E.R. - National March on Washington! (and San Francisco), this Saturday, October 26. Buses from all over. A.N.S.W.E.R. = Act Now to Stop War & End Racism. I do not plan to go, though I know some people who do. D.C. is too dangerous, and not because of the "sniper", because law-abiding citizens are disarmed.

CBS News - Anthrax Vaccine Scares Off Top Troops - too many bad side effects. [brianf]

Military members who have left represent some of the most experienced and highly trained individuals in the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve "and are people not easily replaced," the GAO said.

"While many factors can and do influence an individual's decision to participate in the military, a significant number of pilot and air crew members cited the required mandatory anthrax immunization as a key reason for reducing their participation or leaving the military altogether in 2000," the GAO said.

I got a message from The Brady Bunch asking me to send an email to Bushnev urging him to create a national ballistic database. I'm on their mailing list so that I can keep abreast of their insanity of the moment. I used their capwiz section, to send him a letter with the opposite message:

The Brady Bunch is attempting to convince you to create a national gun ballistics database. If you do your homework, you'll discover that this is a complete waste of money. It can't work. Their real goal, as we all know, is registration of every gun followed by confiscation. They want to disarm us so that we will be helpless to defend ourselves against criminals and tyrants. Don't do it. No more legal restrictions on firearms. Ever.

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership - The Failure of the Government Protection Hoax - not only can the government not protect you against criminals, they don't even have a legal responsibility to do so. A Bill of Rights culture is the only thing that can protect you. Then you will be protected by yourself and your fellow citizens, armed and alert. [jpfo]

In a Bill of Rights culture, you'll be free to carry the weapons you need to defend yourself, your family, and your community. Potential criminals are going to have to weigh the risk to themselves any time they think about doing their evil deeds. In a Bill of Rights culture, people will understand that they are responsible for themselves, that they are free adults, not passive children huddling under a nanny-government's skirts.

Until we have a culture that understands, respects, and lives by the entire Bill of Rights, you can count on more of this craziness. And more of the horrible helplessness that goes with it.

THE BILL OF RIGHTS IS THE ULTIMATE SELF-DEFENSE TOOL.

I sent the following email to Charles Schumer, New York's senior senator, via his web form:

We don't need a national ballistics database. It will do no good in fighting crime and will cost a bundle. Another feel-good boondoggle.

Let me give you a little lesson in the second amendment, Mr. Schumer. It begins with "A well-regulated militia being necessary for the security of a free state." The militia is all of us, well-armed with our own military weapons (see 10 USC 311). The militia is still necessary for the security of our United States. Hence, anything that interferes with the militia interferes with our security. There's a name for interfering with state security. It's called treason. It's one of the few federal crimes actually mentioned in the Constitution. The penalty for treason is death.

Tread softly on the second amendment, Mr. Schumer. It may take a while, but there WILL be trials. The life you save could be your own.
