The Tyranny Advances

A Potted Plant

I pull a sun from my coin purse each day.

And at night I let my pet the moon
Run freely into the sky meadow.

If I whistled,
She would turn her head and look at me.

If I then waved my arms,
She would come back wagging a marvelous tail
Of stars.

There are always a few men like me
In this world

Who are house-sitting for God.
We share His royal duties:

I water each day a favorite potted plant
Of His --
This earth.

Ask the Friend for love.
Ask Him again.

For I have learned that every heart will get
What it prays for
Most.

Cindy Richards at the Chicago Sun Times - Dear John: Take this gun and... - an editorial advising Ms. Richard's readers to send letters to John Birch of Concealed Carry, Inc. requesting one of the free handguns that he has offered to give to Chicago residents. She advises them to them to "take the weapon to the nearest police station, turn it in and take one gun off the streets (while simultaneously draining Concealed Carry members of the $300 they spent in an attempt to increase the numbers of guns in circulation)." I sent her the following message (the L. Neil quote is from smith2004; wraith's email signature): [kaba]

Ms. Richards,

I just read your editorial in the Chicago Sun Times (http://www.suntimes.com/output/richards/cst-edt-cindy24.html). I find it difficult to remain civil with someone who would rather see a woman raped and strangled to death with her own pantyhose than for her to protect herself with the best and most practical tool, a handgun. So I'll let L. Neil Smith speak for me:
"Reread that pesky first clause of the Second Amendment. It doesn't say what any of us thought it said. What it says is that infringing the right of the people to keep and bears arms is treason. What else do you call an act that endangers 'the security of a free state'?

"And if it's treason, then it's punishable by death.

"I suggest due process, speedy trials, and public hangings."
The second amendment isn't about hunting or target shooting. It isn't really about self defense, either. It's about having the tools to preserve a free country. Without guns in the hands of the militia, that's all of us, America is as prone to a new Hitler as Germany was before World War II. Gun control = genocide. It's that simple.

Learn to shoot. Go to your local gun range and ask for instruction. You'll find the people there to be good, honest, down-to-earth Americans. The first thing they'll teach you, before you ever touch a weapon, is how to handle guns safely.

Being armed and knowing how to shoot well is not only your civic duty. It's fun!

Ed Lewis at Liberty for All - And, the tyranny advances - it's been too late for a long time to change things from within the system. Is it still too early to shoot the bastards?

You know, Folks, there is a time when any tool is junked. If it can't do the job that needs to be done, then another is bought. And, if the first is simply outdated, such as my old IBM 256 computer, then it is no longer needed or modifications are needed to the extent a new model might as well be purchased. When it is broken beyond repair, then we replace it.

Government is merely a tool of the people. Those in it actually have less freedom since laws that are made by man are meant to control government, not the people. You see, the only lawful laws are meant to regulate the government in meeting two ends - protection physically of our shores (only) and to uphold the Constitution. When these are not done, the government has failed.

Our governing bodies have and are failing miserably. The existing bodies are broken beyond repair because those that could correct the problems are part of the problem and will never be part of the solution. They protect each other with vengeance against the Constitution and at the price of our country - and our freedom that should be but never has been for the most of us.

Southern Ammunition Company - Military Surplus Ammo - ".308 ball, U.S. and Israel, manufactured during the mid 70's to mid 80's", mostly boxer primed, $105/1000. $89/1000 for the same, slightly tarnished. $80/1000 for the same, slightly dented, "checked in a chamber gauge and will chamber". "This ammunition is all brass cased, and is loose packed in 50 caliber ammo cans." I haven't tried it, so I can't vouch for its quality. [battlerifles.com]
