From The Oklahoma City Bombing and the Politics of Terror:
All governments are run by liars and nothing they say should be believed. - I.F. Stone

Randy Dotinga at apbnews.com - Man Sues Over Arrest for Taping Police Chief: A film student in Washington state was arrested and kept in jail for 3 days because he filmed the chief of police at a skateboard park. He is suing for $5 million. [unknown]

CNN - Blink and fly: Eye-scanning system could reduce airport lines, hassles: EyeTicket Corp. is talking with airlines about using an iris scanning system to replace ticketing and identification for airline boardings. They're talking about a voluntary system right now. How long before some government goon has the idea to make it mandatory? I'll continue to show my ticket, thank you very much. According to this July 24 press release, they're already using it to identify airline employees at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. [wnd]

ALTRUIST (FORCED): The forced altruist can best be defined by their slogan: "FROM each according to his ABILITY, and TO each according to his NEED." What this means, in plain terms is: Take the fruits of creativity and productivity from those capable and willing to produce new wealth (profit) and give them to those who have not earned them.

CREATING CRIMINALS: "There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one 'makes' them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted --- and you create a nation of law-breakers --- and then you cash in on the guilt." (Ayn Rand, "Atlas Shrugged")

HEGELIAN PRINCIPLE: 1. Create a problem or build an existing one up out of proportion to its importance; 2. Publicize the problem far and wide, whipping up hysterical frenzy to get people to demand a solution; and 3. Offer a solution that takes away more rights and more money. (something not possible without the previous conditioning in steps one and two.) This gets people to approve their own enslavement. Ayn Rand calls it "The consent of the victim."

PROGRAM OR PLAN: As used by power seekers, the word program or plan means yet another way to separate you from your money and your right to make your own decisions in life.

TRULY NEEDY: Those who, through no fault of their own, honestly need help. This includes crippled people, people who have become ill, the mentally ill and others who just cannot take care of themselves. These are the people we can make our own decisions about helping, and many of us do.

Brian Puckett, David Codrea, and Charles Carner at KeepAndBearArms.com - The Professional Face of Evil: a compilation of interviews with patriots who attended a recent DOJ meeting in California about the new mandatory gun registration law. [sierra]

Just that I was struck by the emptiness of these men. No patriotism, no respect for their oath to support and defend the Constitution, no integrity. They have the current California socialist political system and law enforcement and the judicial establishment on their side, all the "official" power, and that made them feel superior. To them, even a good citizen -- someone who has always obeyed the law, supported law enforcement, so forth -- is now automatically a "puke" if they own militia rifles and refuse to register themselves. They think any citizen who disobeys this illegal California edict and exercises his rights is no different from the criminals. We're all just dirtbags, and you can see it in their faces.

...

And one final thing. We'll never see the end of firearm bans and registration and so forth until the Supreme Court rules correctly on the Second Amendment, so we must push for a ruling now. If the court doesn’t rule according to the historical and moral meaning of the amendment, or refuses to rule, then we are left with no options but re-asserting our rights by force. And we will.
