Full Faith And Credit

via The Zelman Partisans by Carl Bussjaeger on Mon, 11 Nov 2024 18:28:40 GMT
I see Trump has found a Second Amendment adviser to help him avoid little issues like his bump stock ban this time around. He says he’ll push for nationwide reciprocal carry. BREAKING Trump announces full conceal carry reciprocity WHAT THIS MEANS: No matter which state you’re in, if you’ve got your concealed carry license, each … Continue reading Full Faith And Credit

Inauguration Day, Jan. 20, is looming large. As the White House prepares to send President Joe Biden on his way and welcome new resident President-elect Donald Trump, the country lives through a limbo as the lame duck leader and new commander prepare for the near future. But this transition period is far from laid back. […]

No Title

via Scripting News on Mon, 11 Nov 2024 14:47:28 GMT
I wrote this piece this morning on my iPad before I got up. I posted it to my ActivityPub blog, via WordPress, and then shared the link on Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Twitter, Facebook, my linkblog feed. It's a third rail piece. A couple of weeks ago I wouldn't have posted it for fear that it would ruin my life. Here's the gist. There are lots of reasons we lost this election, but basically the reason we lost is we didn't get enough votes. And enough votes to have won are locked up with men who resent the derision Democrats have for men, and don't look any further. As a Harris voter, I have the same feeling of hatred of the Dems, but I hold my nose because I believe Trump is who he says he is. But I'm not saying the other men are wrong. I am saying the Dems are organized the wrong way. People are entitled to their opinion but they aren't entitled to ruin people's lives for disagreeing them. In that way the Dems are every bit as bad as Trump. The people who presume to keep people silent have far too much power for their numbers. And it's time to turn things over so they can't get in the way. And then we might start winning elections because we have ideas that are good for us, not the things Trump is getting ready to do now, which most certainly is not.

Democrat Senators and power players angling to replace Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor before Biden’s term expired were brushed back on Sunday. While the Democrats still control the presidency and the US Senate, some, like Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), have pressured Sotomayor to retire so Joe Biden could name a younger justice to her seat. It didn’t take long for a caravan of approximately 3,000 migrants headed for the US-Mexico border to shrink in half once former President Donald Trump secured re-election. While the president-elect and his team of advisors work to organize a deportation plan for immigrants already within the country’s borders, those here illegally are signaling they will […]

Veterans Day 2024

In the olden days of the blawgosphere, we typically recognized holidays. Not that there’s much of a blawgosphere anymore, but to the extent there is, holidays seem to pass without remark. It’s almost a week after Election Day, yet little has changed since the rush of called races on that first night. The little bit of progress since has been a trickle. Still, few races remain to be called – just one in the Senate and 18 in the House – and the results paint a […]

The Things Trucks Used to Offer

Here’s a short video monologue about the ’25 Chevy Silverado – which is remarkable because it still can be had with three things that are becoming not only hard-to-find in other trucks but unavailable in many new half-ton trucks: A V8 engine. A regular cab. An eight foot bed. It make you feel a lot […]
