Will Trump Take On the Leading Enablers of Illegal Migrants?

via Liberty Nation News by Joe Schaeffer on Sat, 09 Nov 2024 15:00:06 GMT

By Joe Schaeffer

The American people have returned President-elect Donald Trump to the White House. And his decisive win in the Electoral College and the popular vote serves as a mandate to do all the things he promised to do – like crack down on illegal immigration. The vast expansion of this social, cultural, and economic disaster during […]

It's worth listening to On The Media, interview with Masha Gassen, saying that the authoritarian government will want to define what's true and not. Since we now understand that most of the information flow now goes around the NYT, CNN etc -- even Fox, and largely through social web and podcasts, if that's where we're all getting our news from, and btw MSNBC are already pretty well limited in what they'll tell us (this was our beef with NYT if you recall) -- the next step is to make it impossible for you to hear what I'm saying, they may still publish my blog, and you may think it sounds like me, but it won't be me. You should ask yourself now how you know this is me. And when you read something I say on Twitter how do you know I said that? You don't. My email comes through Google and Amazon. How do you know it came from me? In the past authoritarians had a harder time controlling the flow of news, now it'll be a snap. And remember they have Elon Musk and all his developers. He knows how to do all this, all he needed was the authority to do it, and in a few months he'll have it. We have a few months to anticipate this. Somehow we have to get some smarts into the White House before the transfer, to figure out how to plant seeds for a defense of our speech now. Later it'll be far too late. It's time to stop being so patient. Going out for a walk in the sunshine, back in a bit.

2024 Election by the Numbers – Through the Fog of Political War

via Liberty Nation News by Mark Angelides on Sat, 09 Nov 2024 11:15:08 GMT

By Mark Angelides

General George S. Patton famously noted, “The fog of war works both ways. The enemy is as much in the dark as you are. BE BOLD!!!!!” He was referring, of course, to actual warfare, yet his now oft-repeated adage could apply equally well to analysis in the aftermath of an election – or any seismic […]

Why the Harris Campaign’s Fear and Loathing Failed

via Liberty Nation News by James Fite on Sat, 09 Nov 2024 11:10:41 GMT

By James Fite

It may be many days before America learns the outcome of the 2024 presidential election in Arizona – but across the rest of the country, it’s all over but the crying. Donald Trump won 301 electoral votes to Kamala Harris’ 226 so far, and Arizona’s 11 wouldn’t be enough to change his decisive win. He […]

Newsom Rising? The CA Governor Is Angling Toward the White House

via Liberty Nation News by Joe Schaeffer on Sat, 09 Nov 2024 11:00:43 GMT

By Joe Schaeffer

Republicans clearly came out on top in this election, but there were some Democratic winners as well. Though he wasn’t officially running for anything, California Governor Gavin Newsom might be one of the biggest. Newsom set to work meticulously positioning himself as the future youthful face of the progressive Democratic establishment well before President Joe […]

Its Ok to Drive Slow . . .

via EPautos Libertarian Car Talk by eric on Sat, 09 Nov 2024 09:45:06 GMT

There is nothing wrong with driving slow – i.e., below the posted speed limit, which typically means much slower than the prevailing speed of traffic. There are many legitimate reasons for driving slow, including being uneasy about driving faster – perhaps on account of age or not-so-great ability behind the wheel. Indeed, it is sound […]

Why is Modern Art So Ugly?

via LewRockwell by No Author on Sat, 09 Nov 2024 04:01:00 GMT

The Vatican’s decision to adopt cartoonish, trivialized symbols, such as the blue-haired ‘Luce’ mascot, is a symptom of a disturbing shift within the Church.  The current trend moving the Church away from Her treasury of glorious art to commercialized trinkets is a mere triviality to many, but the history of this move is darker than most realize. The age-old question of whether life imitates art, or art imitates life essentially asks whether it is the art which impacts society and shapes the culture – and therefore the artist is an agent of change – or whether the artist is merely … Continue reading

The Left Will Not Go Quietly

via LewRockwell by No Author on Sat, 09 Nov 2024 04:01:00 GMT

Not since the heady days of George McGovern, whose capture of the Democratic Party in 1972 ended in utter ignominy with the Nixon landslide, have two political parties been as deeply and bitterly divided as they were in this latest election, which ended on a clear if unexpected note of triumph for Donald J. Trump. Breaching the Blue Wall by the early hours of November 6 and then smashing his way to a complete conquest of the popular vote, a free and fair election has thus catapulted him to become the next president of the United States. What an astonishment … Continue reading

The One Man in San Francisco Who Cares

via LewRockwell by Allan Stevo on Sat, 09 Nov 2024 04:01:00 GMT

Mark lives in modest accommodations. He has a modest job. In his spare time he prepares for his next studio album. He is an accomplished musician. The building he lives in is on an alley. It is the only building with its front entrance on that alley. Mark cares for the alley as he cares for his own space. Mark lives in a rough part of downtown San Francisco, in the worst of the worst neighborhoods one could want to exist in. But his humble home, the adjacent alley, and a little bit of the space around is notably watched … Continue reading
