Anarchy Book

I have started writing a book. I don't know yet where I will get book-length material, but the introduction came out of my muse along with the idea that it was a book, so I expect I'll be fed that information as I need it.

I'll publish it as I go along at billstclair.com/anarchy.

When it's done, I'll also create an iPub version, and likely make it available on Amazon for a few dollars.

I''m using Ulysses to write it. Markdown formatting. Storage in iCloud. Runs on Mac, iPad, or iPhone, which all sync to each other, so you can write on any and it will be seen by all.

Review: thesweetsetup.com/apps/best-writing-app-mac-iphone-ipad.

https://www.maryjanesgarden.com is a web site where you can order cannabis seeds. It has been on my links page for many years. I was reminded of it because somebody claiming to represent them asked me to remove the link. I not only will not do that, I encourage you to purchase their products.

Changes

Much has happened since my last post here. I discovered myself in a Santa Fe, New Mexico Emergency room. The doctors and nurses there were good, but nobody loved me. I also felt like an episode of House. So I limped home to my sons place in Knoxville, TN, where we determined that my problem was a 4 cm bladder stone. Removal of that left me able to pee properly for the first time in over a year, and I decided to stay where someone who loved me could attend my future stays at medical establishments. So I sold my trailer, am buying a house in East Knoxville, and trading my F-150 for a 2017 BMW 328d. Trip to Bennington and Boston late summer. Trip to Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana in the summer of 2022, staying in motel rooms and friends houses, goddess willing and the creek dont rise.

New house in East Knoxville: https://youtu.be/mbE2z8EVHjw

Server Updated

I updated Ubuntu on the Digital Ocean droplets that run my web sites. They were running 16.04, support for which runs out in April of 2021. Now they're running 18.04.

Next, I need to upgrade impeccable.social with version 2.0.x of Pleroma. Currently running 1.1.x. Though I see no real reason to upgrade. It's rock-solid stable. That machine has only booted once, and it was a Digital Ocean problem, not done by me.

I wrote a nifty Bash CGI-BIN script, so that I could easily verify which web site I was talking to during the transition. It shows the
hostname
, the version of Ubuntu (
/etc/issue
), and
uname -a
. It has a source/script toggle link at the bottom of the page, so you can see how it works.

http://billstclair.com/cgi-bin/uname.sh

April 19th 2020

It's April 19th again. Time to remember historic happenings on this day. The big one for Americans, of course, is the shot heard round the world, in Concord, Massachusetts on the morning of April 19, 1775. It was named and immortalized by Ralph Waldo Emerson in 1837 in his poem, The Concord Hymn. It was begun when the British attempted to seize weapons and ammunition from American colonists. If today's government wishes to foment a civil war, that's still a sure way to start it.

Today is also the twenty-seventh anniversary of the day when Slick Willy and his boys killed 82 people at Waco--22 of them innocent helpless little children. I am still waiting for Waco Justice.

Time to Get America Back to Work

Dr. David L. Katz says to get America back to work. 59-minute video.

https://youtu.be/VK0Wtjh3HVA

Dr. Katz is known for his March 20 New York Times Op-Ed, "Is Our Fight Against Coronavirus Worse Than the Disease?" (archive.is/Y1HGp)

More evidence that Sweden got it right. Protect those at risk, and let the rest of the population go about their lives.

If the Vermont governor doesn't lift the stay-at-home order by May 1, I intend to begin wearing a high-visibility yellow safety vest when out in the world, as a warning that the government response to the virus is now worse than the virus itself. I ordered it yesterday from Amazon, who told me to expect delivery next Wednesday.

Since I live alone, and telecommute to work, the stay-at-home order has had very little effect on me personally. But it has put millions out of work, and will permanently destroy thousands of small businesses if it continues.

Waco Justice 2019

It's April 19, 2019, the twenty-sixth anniversary of the mass murder by US government agents at Waco, Texas. There has still been no Waco Justice:

I had an idea a while back that I almost wrote down, but couldn't bring myself to share, but it's back with a vengeance, so I've gotta get it off my chest. I doubt I can let Waco rest until every federal agent on the ground on April 19, 1993, and everyone in each chain of command, including Janet Reno and William Jefferson Clinton, is tried for crimes against humanity, and until those who are found guilty by a jury of twelve are executed for their crimes. I'm not going to hold my breath for this to happen, but there's no statute of limitations on murder, so we've got 20 or 30 years before the vermin die of natural causes. I can wait.

...

So what's the normal way to execute war criminals? A firing squad of course. And we can very easily turn it into a fund raiser for the survivors and family of the victims. Sell $100 raffle tickets to choose the riflemen and riflewomen who off the scum. I'd pay that in an instant for a chance to put a bullet into one of these baby killers. I'll bet there are at least 100,000 others who would join in. A cool $10 million. Give each shooter an army surplus rifle with an engraved label commemorating the festivities ("This weapon was used to execute Janet Reno on April 19, 2003"), and one cartridge to fire on the joyous day. Imagine showing your grandchildren one of these.

Wolverines

A blog reader clued me in to a chapter of Mike Vanderboegh's book, Absolved, that I had missed, since it wasn't in Codrea's index. I added it, and named it Chapter X: Wolverines.
